Alternate Devices LLC was founded with the goal of researching and developing solutions that enable, assist, and restore function, empowering individuals to surpass limitations and reach their goals more easily.
Alternate Devices was founded following the successful development of a computer input device geared towards individuals who have difficulty using a keyboard, mouse, or touchscreen.
Many of the solutions being developed stem from the founder's own experience as a bilateral upper extremity amputee. Having experienced firsthand the offerings of adaptive technology, he has founded Alternate Devices to further develop accessibility tools using the latest innovations in technology.
Alternate Devices aims to research and engineer solutions that enable, assist, and enhance the way people interact with technology. Our solutions are designed to be universal, and provide a greater degree of freedom than currently offered in adaptive technology.
Adaptive technology enables people with disabilities to better interact with the world around them. Alternate Devices is removing some barriers faced by people with disabilities and those who support them, by developing a more simple way to interact with software and apps. Our goal is to create turn-key solutions for engaging in tech-driven activities, without the burdens of software or configuration, and that offer a high degree of independence.
Like many innovations borne of an accessibility need, some of our solutions have applications beyond accessibility. Our vision is to apply the learnings of how people engage in tech-driven activities, to the benefit of people who use adaptive technology as a sole means of interaction.
Alternate Devices uses modern design principles to develop alternative input devices, and the software and platforms that enhance their usability to everyone.
